  • Applications are open to U16 and\/or U18 teams with official approved rosters. No \u201cassembled\u201d or \u201call-star\u201d teams.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Applications are open to both AA or AAA teams.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Teams will compete as one open event, no specific divisions for AA\/AAA or U16\/U18<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 tournament games. Depending on registration, that could change to 4.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • All teams will be responsible to produce an official approved roster and travel permit before participation.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Teams will be asked to provide the tournament committee a roster for our tournament program.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Cost of the event is $1800 if paid before December 31, 2023. After this date, cost will increase to $2000.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Teams will be expected to be ready to play the first game of the tournament. The tournament committee will work with teams to accommodate travel, but teams need to be prepared for the posted schedule.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Teams coming from long distances will have the opportunity under the direction of the tournament chairman to schedule practice time or a potential exhibition game against a local AAA team.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • All Championship games will be played at the Alaine Chartrand Community Centre.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • After each game, there will be a 3-star selection made by tournament officials, with awards presented on the ice. Each team will be asked to line-up at their respective bluelines.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Each team will receive a \u201cteam monitor\u201d for the weekend. This individual is a younger SGMHA player, and will assist with pre-game duties such as game sheets, etc.\u00a0 This is a long-standing tradition, something that our young monitors will remember for a lifetime.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The Showcase will have an Opening Ceremony, which will take place on Friday evening. This is an amazing kick-off to the event as all the teams will be introduced and showcased on the ice in front of a sold-out crowd.\u00a0 Be prepared parents for a few tears especially if there is your player\u2019s final year of minor hockey!\u00a0 An event not to be missed.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • On Saturday afternoon, the event will host a Skills Competition, with representation from all teams, competing and showcasing all they have to offer while enjoying a few smiles!<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The tournament committee will select many award winners at the end of the Showcase including MVP, Scoring Champion and All-Star team.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
